Why did I choose this career?


If you know me, you probably know that I love makeup and one of my biggest dreams is being part of a company of the beauty industry; being that the greatest motivation for my career election. However, there are many reasons. Last year I spent all the year preparing myself for the PSU and to have the possibility to go to university. I was in a preuniversitario where I had a chemistry teacher who made me fall in love with this career. I believe that it happened for the way that he explained to us the subject matter, it was so creative, fun and so easy to understand. Also for his ability to resolve all the examples in a so easy way and how intelligent and capable he was after he studied the same career, chemistry and pharmacy.

Another reason is that my mom has so many diseases to her bones and to heart and this is such amazing opportunity to know more about her ailments and maybe create something to help her.

When I was little, I always wanted to study pedagogy in something. I didn't know in what but for me it was a pleasure to teach my classmates and to help them. It is amazing how much dreams change!

Before leaving my high school, all my teachers told me that chemistry and pharmacy was for crazy people who want to spend all day studying, that I wouldn’t have time to do anything and that it would be a wrong decision. Now, I know that their arguments are true but I’m really proud of my choice.

    I think it´s so sweet you wanted to help your mom by studying this, if you want then you will do. And I agree to your teachers it´s a hard career, but amazing. Enjoy it! :D

My name is Yasna Alejandra González Rodríguez. I was born on November 23rd in 1998 at Barros Luco Hospital. My parents are Nelson Gonzalez Yañez who is house painter and María Angélica Rodríguez who is housewife. I studied my whole primary school in Lo Espejo, at Sagrado Corazón School. The story behind the photographs

I think my favorite moment of this year so far was the Justin Bieber concert. I spent such an amazing night at the national stadium with all the Beliebers. It was really special because I was so close of him and enjoyed each song as if it was the last and, of course, I cried so much during the concert. I went through for two concerts of him before but each one has something really special.  Some months ago, a street cat came to my house because she was pregnant and she was going to have her kitties in a warm and sheltered environment. I met the kitties when they had days after being born. Since that day, I was the second mother of them. Now, I have 4 cats and I love them all alike. At first I didn’t like cats but they are so cute and sweeties that they conquered my little heart.

A subject I've enjoyed studying this semester

My favorite subject in this semester is laboratory techniques. I think the reason for my choice is because I have a vacuum with the subject of laboratories since school because although we had a laboratory equipped, I was rarely taken to work there and I didn't take advantage of it. Now, it is completely different because we go to the lab every week. At the beginning of the course, we did many experiments to "play" and lose the fear of working with glass materials and learn to use it correctly. An area that I like about this subject are the teachers, which are clear when they are explaining the experiments that we will perform in the class and the technician of the laboratory is very nice, so much that when I go to the lab we laugh so much I love the trust they have with each of us by providing us with a drawer with the necessary materials so that each week we can carry out our activities.
